Jessica Zhao was born and raised in Shandong, China. During her university years, she studied photography, journalism, and TV editing at Beijing Film Academy and Communication University of China. After graduation, she worked at a TV station in Beijing, and with encouragement from her aunt, she began attending church gatherings and reading the Bible. By God’s mercy, Jessica repented and was reborn in Christ in 2012, and that same year, she joined the Christian ministry of Eight Blessings to serve the Lord.

Through her service in a Beijing church and her work in translating and editing 9Marks books about church building for Eight Blessings, Jessica has gradually gained clarity on God’s guidance and calling. In 2020, she began pursuing a Master of Divinity degree at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and graduated in December 2024. Over the past 20 years, Jessica has served in small groups, worship, Sunday school teaching, and student ministries in the church.
