Family Gathering and Praising Together
Elder Fangbiao Lin
Today, all eight congregations of our church gather for our annual joint worship service. Like a big family, all the men and women, the elderly and the young, will get together under one roof to worship and to sing praises aloud to God in multiple languages. I believe many brothers and sisters are like me, eagerly waiting for this big annual event. Ever since I moved to Seattle in 2005, I have been attending ECC, first in Redmond, then in Seattle, and finally in Edmonds. As a person who has served at all three campuses, I am also delighted by the opportunity to see many familiar faces and to meet with old friends whom I have not seen for a long time.
I have seen respected servants of God still serving faithfully, and newly converted brothers and sisters now actively participating in church ministries. Boys and girls from the old days have now become parents holding their own children in their arms, and small children have grown into handsome young adults. All of these tell me about God's faithfulness and grace, and my heart is filled with infinite gratitude.
What makes me even more grateful is that ECC has become a big united family with one heart and one mind. Although members worship in eight separate congregations, though under the shepherding of our Lord Jesus, all follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit to build up the house of God together. I was there when the Redmond campus was purchased and witnessed how brothers and sisters of the entire church supported the purchase of this hard-to-find property. I also participated in the recent purchase of the church campus in Edmonds. The dedicated support from brothers and sisters again demonstrated their sharing of the vision of the Kingdom of God. Since the Edmonds campus was dedicated last August, I have seen and experienced God's blessings and guidance, and many ministries have expanded. The growth of various ministries at the Edmonds campus has been backed by the solid support of church members and the pastors of the Seattle and Redmond campuses. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you on behalf of all the brothers and sisters of the Edmonds campus. Let us all thank God for giving us the beautiful family of ECC!
