The God Who Gives and Fulfills Dreams
Minister Wendy Choy (RED-Cantonese)
I stepped outside this morning and inhaled a breath of cool air. The feeling took me back to the university campus in eastern Canada many years ago. During the cold winter days, with a blanket of snow on the ground, I would go to the lakeside, sit down with my hot dog or French fries, and gaze at the frozen lake, enjoying a time of peace and quietness. (I was young then and didn’t mind the cold!) The cool air refreshed my soul. “Refreshed” was the state of my heart during my college days: full of enthusiasm and hope toward life and the future. I still recall the late-night donut shop chats after
Friday fellowship, where we dreamed about how God would call and use us in our lives. Today, of the 27 brothers and sisters in my college fellowship WhatsApp group, 6 are full-time ministers. It is all the grace of God: the God who gives dreams is also the God who fulfills these dreams!
The breath of cool air this morning refreshed my soul again. Although I am not young anymore, I am still full of enthusiasm and hope. I hope in God to continue to put His dreams in my heart, calling and using me for His kingdom, and I keep watch on His work in fulfilling these dreams of His and mine.
“The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. The LORD is my portion, says my soul, therefore I will hope in him. The LORD is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him.” Lamentations 3:22-25
