Reflection and Outlook
Elder Steve Hsiao
Time passes so quickly, and in the blink of an eye, we have welcomed the arrival of the year 2024. I have also relinquished the responsibility of the chairmanship of ECC’s Church Board. Looking back over the past two years, our church has experienced many difficulties and challenges, but we have also witnessed God’s abundant grace. Not only has He provided us with ample resources, faithful and God-loving co-workers, and a united team, but also with a vast mission field.
As we emerge from the pandemic, besides being grateful, we should also take time to reflect on the valuable lessons God has given us in the past few years, learn to adapt different ministries in the church, acknowledge God's entrustment, manage His resources wisely, and be God’s faithful stewards. Our vision should not only see the immediate need for the gospel in the vast Chinese community, but also recognize God's calling and mission for the next generation, so that the mission of ECC and the planning of ministries can be more comprehensive, rooted, and aligned with God’s will. To achieve this goal, I believe that a deeper commitment to learning is essential in the following areas:
Foundation of truth
Clear vision
Faithful stewardship
Strong unity
Discipleship establishment
Cohesive teamwork
Blueprint for ministries
May the Lord bless us, guiding our path and allowing us to experience His grace more profoundly. May we also embrace obedience and faithfulness, ensuring that we fulfill God’s trust in the year ahead. Let us be a testimony to the transformative power of Christ’s gospel and a source of blessing to the people in the greater Seattle area.
