Precious Moments
Sister Anita Chuck
“We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers; remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labor of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father.” 1 Thessalonians: 1:2-3
There is really no retirement in Christian service, especially since there is a never-ending to-do list in the Children’s Ministry. ECC has been my spiritual home ever since I came to Seattle for my graduate studies almost 40 years, where I got married, raised a family, and had all our children grow up and be baptized. The congregations were full of people who had nurtured our children and who had shared with us joy and sorrow, success and disappointment. We have been together long enough to be richly blessed, and occasionally wounded, so we can grow stronger in Christ. We are so honored and have been privileged to serve in many different capacities and in various ministries.
All my years in Children’s ministry are very precious to me, not just the past five years with a title. It has been a great honor to walk with many of you, the youth, and children (including mine) in this faith journey.
I have been blessed from each learning and teaching moment I have had, either with the children or teachers. Praise the Lord for the many young adults who grew up in Sunday school and have kept the faith and have served in different walks of life. The youth who served in VBS 2022 will be heading to college in no time and will soon be church or community leaders. There is no better joy than to see our children walk in the Truth.
Thanks to all who serve in Children’s Ministry with the joy of Jesus, sharing God’s wisdom and guidance even in the littlest things. For the Kingdom of God belongs to His little ones! It does take a “Big heart” to inspire a little mind. Every teachable moment in children’s ministry can turn into a blessing for years to come. Each teachable moment is a precious moment!
