Please find below see Good Samaritan Fund Project Reports and letters of thanks from different agencies who have received our support.
Thank you for generously supporting the fund. May you be encouraged and blessed!
Our church’s Care Ministry team oversees the distribution of ECC’s Good Samaritan Fund (GSF) to persons with financial needs as a way of demonstrating God’s love and compassion by physically and spiritually lifting up those going through tough times. The “needy” include ECC attendees, as well as anyone in our city, country, and around the world. Examples of needs include (but are not limited to):
- Long-term unemployment
- Unforeseen medical problems
- Loss of immediate family member
- Loss due to accidents, crime, or natural disasters
The GSF can also be applied to humanitarian organizations. When deciding where to give, we evaluate an organization for their integrity, ethos, track record, and commitment to those in need.
Your Help Needed
During our present COVID-19 crisis, everyone at ECC is encouraged to love their community. Suggestions include:
- Reach out to neighbors
- Support the newly unemployed
- Help the hungry & homeless
- Donate blood
- Keep in touch with ECC brothers & sisters
- Be part of ECC’s Care Ministry (see below)

Help Us Distribute GSF Gifts to the Hurting
How? Be attuned to those around you who are experiencing hardship and determine if they need financial help. Then do the following:
- On behalf of the individual, please complete a Care Ministry application form.
- Submit the application to your congregational council for approval (up to $1,000).
At any time, the council’s discussion and voting for approval can be made over email. - After the GSF gift has been given, follow up with the individual as their “care minister.”
- Encourage others in your congregation at ECC to “go and do likewise”!
Current ECC members serving on ECC’s Care Ministry: Phil Lee, Chen Chuck, Yvonne Mark, Sam Cheng, Mark Jin, Joseph Wang, Hanchi Wang, Allan Kam, King Lam, Alvin Siu, Jandie Ho, and Glenn & Carol Redfield.
