Gordon Sun was born and raised in Yonghe District, Taiwan. He moved to Bellevue in 1988 along with his parents and brother. Soon after the move, he started coming to ECC because his uncle and grandmother were already attending. Gordon met his wife, Jennifer, at ECC while serving together. They got married in 1998 and have two children, Matthew and Megan, both currently in college.

Gordon has spent much of his career in the areas of IT and human resources for the aerospace industry. He has also been consistently involved in children’s ministry, but always considered himself more of a teacher than CM director/minister. In 2022 he was asked to serve as the interim Children’s Ministry Director at the ECC Redmond campus.

Gordon enjoys utilizing magic tricks to engage with kids and reward good behavior in his Sunday school classes. It has been a great blessing for him to see many of the kids that used to be in his classes now serving in leadership roles in the church.
