Pastor Caleb Lau was called to serve as an intern at the ECC-Redmond Mandarin congregation from 2012-2013. He was born and raised in Malaysia and gave his life to Christ in 1986. He came to the United States in 1995 with his fiancée, Sue Wong, who later became his wife, to pursue a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science at the University of Missouri in Kansas City, MS. He worked as a software engineer at Informix Software and IBM Corporation in Lenexa, KS. A few years later, after sensing God’s call for vocational ministry and with the full support of his wife, he enrolled in the Master’s Degree of Theology program at Dallas Theological Seminary; he graduated with a Th.M. degree in May, 2012. He served in various roles at the Greater Kansas City Chinese Christian Church in Shawnee Mission, KS from 1997-2008. During his education in Dallas Theological Seminary he also served at the Dallas Chinese Fellowship Church in Plano, TX from 2008-2012. He was confirmed as a Minister of the ECC-Redmond Mandarin congregation in 2013 and was ordained as pastor in November 2016.
He and his wife Sue married in June 1998 and have four children: Davina – 1999; Joseph – 2002; Irene – 2004; Benjamin – 2005.
